hey aliceinchains, i have a question for you re: wmdb - what are you using for your image
resizing script for the map previews?

i have used imagemagick before, but we don't have shell access @ our
webhost so that's probably out of the question.

thanks

Bloopy: he got kicked because we're kind of fed up with all the whining against 1v1v1 games.

This time we intentionally started with 32 players, still, there was a draw, so there had to be one. And it's not our fault people don't realize, that if we gave away a free round instead, then the finals would have to be 1v1v1. Now is that better? I guess it is, for whiners to whine about it.

Don't you think it's just a tad bit odd that Falkra has to maps on the top ten in 1st and 2nd for so long, and he's only posted two maps.
Given I kinda like the Pigeon fly, but that scheme is not the most liked in W:A, and that other one............well lets just say I've seen better.

Ok, I thought about what I'm change/do for the new wmdb:

1. Slicker interface, new design
2. Awards system for maps (creative, fun, ...). I'm gonna appoint people who give away the awards, they're gonna be called "Editors". They have to be fair of course.
3. Map collaboration system

I decided against user logins, I don't want to bloat the wmdb too much, I like it the way it is.

I'm gonna continue to work on the wmdb next tuesday.

Get ready for a map of the likes that have never been seen before! Well kinda but a lot of work is going into this one. This is NO FIVE MIN. JOB! ClanDarkMatter will begin testing shortly on Metroid Shoppa 2. One year to the date after the first release I shall post it, and it will be great! One will be a shoppa, and the other will be a w2w like only Clandarkmatter can make! These maps have more than just lines in it, there lines with style! Be ready for Feb 14 2005!

b&w maps should be uploaded elsewhere :)
I agree on the quality of the latest additions though :( There should be a way to just get good maps somewhere

Perhaps somebody makes a page for the good submissions? :)
