Despite its atypical layout, this map is pretty easy, because there is filled space you don't rope in. I think it's fun to rope, just give it a few turns ;).
I used Paint for half the map making process, the only way I used Photoshop was to put a filter inside the -----V-- parts and save my stainless steel pic to 32 colours.
